Welcome!

Hello everyone, and welcome to 111 Archer Avenue. What started as a film review blog has become my online judgment forum. I will review the occasional movie or DVD, post an interesting trailer, critique a newly-read book, talk about sports, and share my thoughts and opinions on random issues. You can also follow me on Twitter (@OlieCoen) or check out my work on DVDTalk.com. Thank you and enjoy!

Thought - Are you ready for some football?

This is a part sports/part thought post, as it is about sports but it is also a thought in my head.  Stay with me.  Ok, Monday Night Football.  Now I love me some Jon Gruden, and Mike Tirico is cool too, but who here remembers when MNF was awesome?  I'm talking the 80s and 90s.  I'm talking John Elway, Brett Favre, Barry Sanders, Deion.  I'm talking Hank Williams  Jr. and his signature song that always got me going before a football game.  There is nothing that compares to "Are you ready for some football!?".  Sorry Faith Hill, but you suck.  I miss that song and I miss that opening tradition.  I know they all had a falling out, but hey, that song defined a television show.  It would be like 'Cheers' without "Where everybody knows your name!".  Something should be done.  I'm just saying.
